Rainbow Bridge - This is Candy's Story (passed on 03/26/09)

Candy was found stray in Hood county and was obviously pregnant. No one came for her so she was on the euthanasia list. CCHS made the two hour drive to get her and bring her to safety. She was HW positive and skinny, but on the road to recovery.

After having her babies, she had complications which resulted in an emergency spay. None of her puppies made it, but we thought she was going to pull through... then she took a turn for the worst. We decided to do a blood transfusion in a last effort to save her. She did great for two days and the on day three, she crashed again. An x-ray revealed that her abdomen was filled w/ blood and she had a bullet lodged in her side that had gone undetected in previous exams.

At this point it was the vets recommendation that we humanly euthanize her because it was no longer in her best interest to let her suffer any longer.

Little Candy is gone but not forgotten. Thank you Robin for taking such good care of her right up until her last moments.
