I'm a very cute black Lab mix one year old puppy. I have sleek black
hair that is very short, and my foster mom thinks I have the cutest
most expressive ears ever!!!! I have whip of a tail, but I keep it
mostly under control...I always use it to show how happy I am to see
you!!!! I love to stretch my gangly legs up on you to show you how
much I love you....
I am a very very special boy because I am one of 20% of puppies that
survives distemper. My brother was not so lucky. Distemper is a
horrible disease that makes puppies very sick, and I have some lasting
signs of my battle. I fought the disease off for more that two months
and mostly laid on my foster mom's ottoman and wagged my tail to show
I was still fighting. My lungs got hurt in the process and I very
often cough/weeze. I also like to play a bit, but I often have to
stop to catch my breath. This looks very scary, but really it's not
so bad.
Most of my day is spent with my foster brothers and sister. I like to
chew on bones and get rubbed on. I am fully potty trained because we
have a doggie door...but that was never much of a problem for me. I
still lay on the ottoman a lot, but now I'm not sick. I also like a
warm bed to lay at the bottom of at night. I like to give kisses, but
sometimes I get confused and nibble instead of lick, but I never
bite. I love treats and I do great with other dogs, but I don't know
what a cat is...but we could probably be friends.
I am looking for a forever home. I can't be a running buddy because
of my lungs, but I can be a lap dog. I don't bark much, but I'll let
you know if something is amiss. So, if you have a spare ottoman for
me; I have love for you!!!!
