I am the newly elected secretary for CCHS. I have always had a soft heart for animals especially dogs. I am pictured with my 2 family dogs both rescues. Ginger is the cocker/jack russell mix on the the ottoman. Ginger, her mom and 7 siblings were drooped off at Brownwood Animal Shelter one night. Ginger's mom did not make it. The staff at Brownwood each took home a few puppies and began the rescue effort of bottle feeding each puppy several times a day for 5 weeks. I found Ginger on Petfinder and fell in love with her. A few days later Ginger was in our home. Lacey is a Pek/Chi mix. Her family was an older couple that had to go into assisted living. They could not bring there dog. My daughters saw her story on craigs list. The next day Lacey was added to to our family. The black dog on my lap is Sable our latest foster and a total sweet heart. These dogs do not ask much of us humans. They only want a loving home in which to grow old in. I love the volunteer work I am doing with CCHS. CCHS has a wonderful group of fosters and volunteers Karen is in charge or checking the phone every day and contacting anyone that leaves us a message. She also takes the minutes at the meetings, writes thank you note to everyone who donates to CCHS and puts together the welcome packets. Karen attends a majority of the adoption events and helps make decision for CCHS by being an integral part of the board. |
