This is the story of Lucy
DOB 07/2003
Weight: 48lbs
Breed: Basset hound
Sex: Female
Lucy was born July 2003 and is 47lbs of sweet doggie lovin. She was
owner surrendered to CCHS after her owners were no longer able to give
her the care she needs. She is now safe in CCHS foster care awaiting a
forever home.
When Lucy was surrendered to CCHS, she was covered in a staph infection.
She was lactating (even though they denied her ever having any babies)
and she has tumors in her breasts for being a senior unaltered dog. Dogs
that are unaltered run a very high risk of getting cancer due to the
hormones that are produced by being intact. Lucy is a CLEAR case of why
you should always Spay/Neuter you pets. She will have her breast removed
as well as her uterus once the staph infection has cleared up (which
will be by May 21st). But don't let that detour you from wanting to give
her a wonderful forever home where she can live out her years in a
healthy environment that can give her the care and attention she
deserves.
Lucy is HW negative and current on her vaccinations. She is great w/
dogs, cats and kids of all shapes and sizes. She is crate trained and
house broken. Lucy is a regular couch potato and would just assume lay
by your feet to watch some TV or take a nap in her bed.
